Very sad. He was such a great friend and source of energy and guidance for all of us. We had several discussions on how to improve our activities of 60plus. He was so jovial at Thrissur at Er.Zakir's get together. God is cruel to take away such gems of human beings too soon. May be he is too dear to Him as well. may his soul rest in peace,

Dear Friends What a shocking news. He was my role model. Whenever I was overwhelmed I used to remember the superman Kunjhi who was a multitasker and good at it. I am sure must be for many. I was fortunate to interact with him from day one. His smiling face, his humility, his brilliance can never be forgotten. During the last meeting we decided to meet with our families at my home on my return. I had only reminded Alice of this just a couple of days. But I am happy that the 60 Plus gave me and all of us an opportunity to meet hhis im and dear family on many occasions. We can only pray for the repose of his soul and solace to his family for this irreplaceable loss. If I may say he is the most illustrious son that TKMCE has produced. With deep sorrow

Dear All A very dear friend, a role model Senior, always ready to help member of our group, above all an extraordinary human being with humbleness and humility as his hall mark ,PCM Kunji has left us. It is a big loss for our group since he was always there to extend help of any kind, ever Smiling. During our Calicut meet, I showed him an article he had written in our college magazine of 1965.He was soe elatd, like an school boy, and showed it his wife and son.He thanked me profusely for that. Curtain has come down on one of our stalwart's life, full of achievements.Yet, he was the same old Kunji to all of us. Extending heartfelt condolences to his whole family and Praying for his soul

Thank you for the pictures, Mohandas. I cannot get over the fact Kunhi looked the fittest in those pictures! Wonder what caused his unexpected demise. Muhammed Kunhi was admired by all who were in college with him. An amazing combination of best student and state level soccer player! He was a strongly built the central forward (?) whom we all rooted for. He was a humble and decent person who showed no swagger of being a 'state' player. May his soul rest in peace. Prayers,

Oh it is our PC. Most popular Food ball prayer those time, but at the same time very calm and quite in his studies. Whenever he goes for matches out of station, his first task will be completion of his class notes during his absence, which generally can not be seen in the attitudes of any players especially in foot ball players. It is quite long since i had seen him after leaving from college. He was Registrar for all Enoppoy Educational Institutels ,Mange ore. Praying Al.Mightoy Allha fr all the blessing and for restoration of strength and courage to his family to with stand the great losse

Hi, It is really shocking. He was intecting with me very closely ever since I met him at Bangalore on octber 27 2012(TKM60Plus annual meet)when he joined the club. As you all he was very keen in club activities. He used to regularly call me in regard to our club activities.4 weeks back also we had discussed on 2016 AGM over phone. He is one of the most polite & generous person I have met through out my life.As all of you have pointed out, he was a role model to many of us including me personally. His unexpected demise is a big loss to TKM Alumni & Educational hub where he was very active as you all know. Let us pray for soul & his family.

Dear Friends
Heart Felt Condolences to Late P C M Kunhi's Bereaved family May his soul rest in peace I have not yet recovered from the shock – the irreparable loss of a true friend having professional & personal association with me for the last four years 2012-2016. I contacted Er.P C M Hashir (S/o Prof.Kunhi) on Feb 29th at 6.00 P M over mobile, hearing the news, Kunhi was in a critical condition at ICU at Yenepoya Hospital Mangalore . I made an emergency call to Dr.Ismail N M A PhD Principal & Dean College Affiliated to University of Yenepoya as I am in the editorial board for reviewing the book of of Prof.P C M Kunhi, supposed to be released on April 23rd 2016(75th Birthday) by C M or Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University. Dr.Ismail informed me 95% of blood vessels bursted out due to massive stroke & Cerebral hemorrhage on Sunday morning at 8.00 A M while admitting him to the Yenepoya Medical College Hospital. Prof.P C M Kunhi’s life is an inspiration and model text book to the present generation he maintained high academic and administration standards throughout his career. He kept up his traditional excellence in all aspects in life education science & research, business, sports-football & athletics’ & numerous social work for community development. He was Erudite Articulate & greatly humane, an embodiment of humility. Prof P C M Kunhi & family,P C M Hashir & Tavir treated me like a guest of honor at the fabulous guest house of 7 floors mansion apartments on Nov 16th & 17th 2015. I am surprised to see the fleet of latest cars like JAGUAR,BMW, AUDI,S CLASS BENZ,& other few (12nos) in the parking lot, Kunhi owns. “What greater solace can there be the feeling that one has lived and died for a principle. One individual may die for an idea in that idea will after his/her death incarnate itself in a thousand lines. That is how the wheels of evolution moves and idea and ideals dreams of one generation bequeathed to the next. What higher satisfaction can his family posses than the knowledge that Kunhi’s spirit will beget kindred spirit to carry out unfinished task”.

Dear GT and Mohandas and friends:
May I suggest on behalf of all his friends from TKMCE let us send a condolence letter and quote from various friends in this column what they thought of a husband, father and grandfather. May be that is the best memory we can give to them. This can be in a book form with all the pictures in our hands Best rgds

Friends,
Personally I feel he is the "Best out going student of TKMCE" during all these 53 years. Considering his academic, athletic, sports and games, character and behaviour and overall performance on and of the campus he is the "UNO". May, be he was called back earlier to God because He loved him most. He and his family deserves an outstanding never before Laurel and dedication from all of us. (This is what I have to tell about him.) B Regards,

Dear Prince and friends,
Eversince I heard the news of the sad demise, I was so disturbed and could not know what to write. I was just reading through the scores of condolence messages from the bereaved friends; thanks to our TKM60PLUS website.
It is simply unbelievable. I was fortunate in meeting him in Zakir’s residence in November 2015. The great man without any pretentions though he had many things to boast of his achievements. He was so down to earth, loving and pleasing; so healthy and agile. God so loved that beautiful flower that He plucked it to be kept with Him for eternity. Dear Kunhi, I never knew that it was the last hand shake at Zakir’s residence. I was overjoyed when I heard his son spoke on that occasion telling that his role model was his own father. That is how fathers should be.
I give below a quote from my own article “Reminiscences of a Golden Era” published in our Souvenir 2 years back :
“Another notable (undoubtedly the best) person was Mohammed Kunhi a man of unusual general proficiency and leadership. The records he had set both in academics and sports still remain unbroken. He will continue to remain a legendary hero.”
My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and his loved ones.

I am shocked at the sad news of demise of Er. Mohammad Kunhi . He was my class mate and we were very close since we renewed our connection after the club. Also, Er. Krishnaswamy Reddiar's demise is saddening. I came to know about the demise of both of them , now only , as I was travelling during these days and not seing the mails.
My heartfelt condolence to the bereaved families of both Kunhi and Reddiar. May their souls rest in peace.

It was almost half a century after Kunhi left TKM’s gates we met again at the same venue to honour another great Engineer, E Sreedharan. Still, Kunhi wore the same capturing smile, confidence and radiated love and care for fellow beings the way only he could do. I do not wish to elaborate on this as most of the 60+ who had met or heard about this best outgoing student of TKM for many years, know much more than me about him and his ways. Let it be the grades in exams, medals won at the athletic meets, goals scored or assists at football matches, behavior with fellow students, staff or faculty, he showed his class that was much above everyone of us.
Talent, skill and speed made him the best forward in Kerala football in our youth and he ended up as Kerala’s central forward and played the National Championship, Santosh Trophy. His style always reminded me of another great and a child prodigy, Moitheen Kutty, who too played for the State and the Country. I use this moment to remember another football legend (Kunhi’s college mate at TKM too) Late Radhakrishnan who had captained Kerala team at the Kollam Santhosh Trophy. Those years, when these players along with Cyril and a few other outstanding youngsters were there, TKM had quite a team that won many a trophy.
I really do not know, in between this heavy schedule of matches in different towns, how Kunhi could steal time to study and be the topper in every exam! His roommates in hostel were the luckiest ones they used to say as they had a teacher in house to clear doubts and even do some assignment for them. On the way to the mess hall, library, classroom or canteen Kunhi received the best smile, everyone loved him and they knew that he loved them more.
We have lost a few friends during the past years but never was there such a rush of condolence posts in our mail box as when Kunhi left us, the first time he made us sad. I know the sadness felt by the family who lost Kunhi for ever is a million times more but, as a mere mortal can only pray to the Almighty to strengthen their minds to keep going. Kunhi is very dear God and RIP must already have occurred by now, my mind says.

REMEMBERING MY CLASSMATE P.C.M. KUNJI (LATE)
Kunji was the one and only '4 in 1' of our Alma Mater TKM. (Class 1st, union chairman, university and state footballer and champion athlete). Our Kunji’s incredible credentials were further sparkled by his iconic humility. I have been trying to locate a similar personality in other Engineering colleges of our state (Till 1998 – year of my retirement from service). To my knowledge I could not identify a person with similar traits. There was one alumnus of College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET) in the 60’s, who was a' 3 in 1' personality, 1st in the class, union chairman (Those days known as general secretary, TKM was the first Engineering college in our state to introduce the position of ‘chairman’ in college union), state and university Tennis player .There had been some 2 in 1s like –class first –union chairman, class first –best actor, class first – best orator etc. Kunji stands out almost alone - ‘A STAR’. In this context may I recall a quote from the History class of our legendary teacher Prof. Paulson, at Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam in 1958; “Among the tens of thousands of monarchs that crowd the columns of History.., the name of Asoka stands out almost alone ‘A STAR’

Two of my old students were at REC(now NIT) Suratkal. One of them was a PG student and the other a faculty member. Kunji was very muchlike a local guardian to both of them. By the time I could make a visit to NIT, Kunji had already left the campus. But I got a direct feedback of him from the teachers in the Civil Engg. department. He was very popular among both students and colleagues. His involvement with the students in the play fields had given him an extra leverage to his official capacity. In this regard it is worthwhile to recall our teachers, Prof. venkittaraman ,Prof.Jesto, Prof.Sainulabdeen, Prof.G.George and Prof. Madhusudhanan who were constant figures in the extracurricular activities with students, were proficient in academics too. In another visit to NIT, I called on him at his office--- a reunion after a gap of 30 long years! It was a memorable day, spending time by recalling the pleasantries of yester years of our TKM life
Kunji has left us by etching an indelible imprint in the hearts of each and every one of our ‘club 60 plus’ family.
